West Kauai is an remarkable blend of spectacular natural wonders and Hawaiian cultural landmarks. Awe-inspiring Waimea Canyon is just the beginning. Waimea District has several state parks and nature preserves.

The Waimea District is the largest of the five land districts, and begins at Hanapepe Bay in the south and ends at the Na Pali Coast and Milolii and Nuaolo Kai State Park in the north.

Kauai’s West Side is home to a string of charming old plantation towns (Hanapepe, Kaumakani, Waimea and Kekaha),
and the longest continuous stretch of sandy beach in all the islands (approx. 17 miles). The “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” – Waimea Canyon State Park – dominates the interior.

The West Side is the red dirt capital of Hawaii.

The island of Niihau, just off the west coast of Kaua`i, is privately owned by the Robinson family and is part of Kauai county.

The following subdivisions are in the Waimea District:
Kekaha Gardens Subdivision
Kekaha Beach Homes
Puukapele Park Lots
Waimea Valley
Waimea Valley Estates
Hanapepe Heights House Lots
Hanapepe Beach Lots

From lush rain forest to sunny white sand beaches stretching for miles and miles, West Kauai has something for everyone.
